Assembly Program

For each K-12 school assembly, ClancyWorks creates a presentation that excites students about how dance can be used to create community through teamwork and collaboration. The assembly program includes a brief historical background and cultural context for each dance form. Each section will be a fun and exciting way to engage students not only in the dance forms but also in the history and culture of societies from which the dance was born.

There’s nothing like a live dance performance for students of all ages.

For our K-12 school assemblies, ClancyWorks creates programs that activate students’ curiosity and shift perceptions. We use performance to showcase how choreographers use inspiration from moments relevant to everyday life to create works of art. We perform dances with versatile and visually exciting props and sets, along with our distinctive use of partnering work choreography.

In watching live dance performances, students gain greater understanding about themselves, their communities and potential. When they leave a live dance performance, students are inspired, engaged, and ready to learn more. Our styles of dance include: Contemporary Modern Dance, Hip-Hop and Street Dance Techniques, Jazz, Tap, Step, Ballet, and Partnering Techniques.

We strive to educate students about the importance of teamwork and collaboration through our performances. We utilize our unique partnering techniques as a metaphor so that in ways, individuals can enhance their own understanding of teamwork.

“The assembly performance was both entertaining and educational. The Company gave the students an overview of the history of dance and demonstrated a variety of dance styles. It was interesting how individual dancing is great but with a partner, there are more possibilities.”

– Jeanne Washburn, Principal, Hyattsville Elementary
