September 1, 2022Ed has a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and a minor in dance from the University of Houston and a Master of Arts degree in modern dance from the University of New Mexico. Ed has choreographed, performed, and taught dance locally and internationally. In January 2008, Ed joined the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Service Officer. He served as a U.S. diplomat in Manila, the Philippines; Tokyo, Japan; Washington, D.C.; Kabul, Afghanistan; The Hague, Netherlands; and Chennai, India. Ed also spent time in the classroom as a teacher, first teaching English in Japan for three years and then teaching 7th grade mathematics in a Houston suburb.
